When an instrument is historically relevant or made by a famous master luthier it is important to understand it and study it.
A system to document it in a precise and technically useful way a musical instrument, is the dimensional/photographic plan.
The mixed drawing/pictures technique introduced by the master luthiers Lorenzo Lippi and Tiziano Rizzi, enriches a dimensional plan in 1:1 scale with a whole range of useful photographic details.
